The Hon. AILEEN MacDONALD (12:39): I move:

(1)That this House notes that:

(a)National Agriculture Day is held annually on the third Friday of November and in 2025 will be observed on Friday 21 November, providing all Australians with an opportunity to celebrate the work of those in the food and fibre industry;

(b)the theme for 2025 is "Stand with the Land", emphasising the resilience, innovation and stewardship of Australia's farmers and regional communities;

(c)National Agriculture Day invites everyone, city and country, to connect with the people, places and practices behind what we eat, wear and use, and it offers tools including school resource packs, event registration opportunities and a national photo and video competition "Grow you good thing!" to engage young people and the broader community; and

(d)the day is powered by the National Farmers' Federation and supported by education programs, regional events and public awareness campaigns aimed at strengthening the connection between urban and rural Australia and recognising the vital role that agriculture plays in our economy, society and environment.

(2)That this House commends the many farmers, farm workers, agribusinesses and regional communities who every day contribute to feeding and clothing our nation and acknowledges the challenges they face, including climate extremes, labour shortages and global market pressures.

(3)That this House encourages all members of this House to promote and participate in National Agriculture Day events in their electorates, support local growers and producers and integrate awareness of food and fibre supply chains into community programs and school activities.

(4)That this House affirms the importance of sustaining strong regional agriculture and supporting innovation, workforce training and young peoples' engagement in the sector so that our rural communities continue to thrive and our nation remains secure.

(5)That this House supports the theme "Stand with the Land" by pledging to help highlight regional stories, bridge the urban‑rural divide and ensure agriculture remains a respected, visible and thriving part of Australia's future.

Motion agreed to.
