The Hon. AILEEN MacDONALD (12:33): I move:

(1)That this House notes that:

(a)on Friday 15 August 2025, the Yalari Foundation celebrated its twentieth anniversary at a gala dinner in Sydney;

(b)Her Excellency the Hon. Margaret Beazley, AC, KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson were in attendance, along with community leaders, supporters, alumni and friends of Yalari;

(c)since its establishment in 2005, Yalari has provided full boarding school scholarships to Indigenous children from regional and remote communities across Australia, with 251 students currently on scholarships and almost 600 alumni studying, working or undertaking further training; and

(d)Yalari's purpose is:

(i)to create equitable opportunities and outcomes for successive generations of Indigenous children;

(ii)to develop leading programs educating and supporting Yalari's students and alumni, individually and collectively, as qualified, contributing, culturally connected and influential Australians; and

(iii)to honour all Australians by sharing Indigenous cultures through stories, healing, laughter and truth.

(2)That this House congratulates the founder, Mr Waverley Stanley, AM, and the Yalari Foundation on 20 years of transformative work, and acknowledges the ongoing contribution of Yalari students and alumni to the future of our nation.
